is it possible to determine movement direction using coremotion? And: would Apple accept that?

Hey all: I can get data from the accelerometer on any axis: x, y and z, however, it doesn't work as I expected. It seems that the accelerometer detects acceleration on a given axis, then I cannot determine if the user moved the device from right to left or from left to right. Is there a workaround for that? Also, I am working with some accessibility apps for the blind and visually impaired, being blind myself, and I am testing this method to show menus or activate features, so a blind user can interact with the real world through ArKit or whatever without touching the screen in some cases. But not sure if Apple would accept something like that.I read somewhere that they are rejecting apps that use an iPhone for detecting swings and other gestures using the device as a kind of tool... Thanks in advance and excuse my english.
