I've been reviewing the new WWDC 24 docs and videos and have a few minor questions. I thought maybe these would be helpful for others as well wondering about the same things.
Is it correct that the only way to integrate with Apple Intelligence is with Assistant Schema conforming App Intents? This means that currently Apple Intelligence can only do things involving photos, mail, documents, files, etc. but would not be able to do things that are more bespoke or transactional (aka "add this product to my Amazon cart") until a relevant assistant schema is made available and adopted by the app
Will actions available with Apple Intelligence always show up in the shortcuts app? It seems that when Assistant Schemas, your app intent will automatically appear in Shortcuts?
There is not currently a general Apple Intelligence API, basically a way to swap out an API like OpenAI and instead send a prompt to the local AI model for more speed and privacy. It seems you could implement a model yourself on the device but there is not a built in one offered to developers?
