Hi everyone, I'm not a developer, but I work in IT and have a puzzling question about the Jodel app on iOS. I used Jodel a few months back, then uninstalled it and didn't use it for quite some time. Recently, after performing a factory reset on my iPhone (without restoring any backups), I reinstalled Jodel for unrelated reasons. Surprisingly, the app recognized me immediately, displaying my previous posts and comments without any login process. Initially, I thought it might be identifying me through my WiFi, so I tried an experiment: I uninstalled Jodel, disconnected from WiFi, and even set my location services to be imprecise. However, upon reinstalling the app under these conditions, it still recognized me.
I thought maybe itโs my device id, but this post suggests that this isnโt possible any more: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19402327/how-to-get-unique-id-in-ios-device/19402414#19402414
Does anyone have an idea how Jodel is able to identify me without any login credentials, especially after a factory reset? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
