Hello guys

I have two questions

I have a very weird problem. I am new to Imovie and am currently in the process of making my first video. I made screen recordings and took screenshots on my Ipad of some royalty free videos and already cropped out what I don‘t want to be visible in my video on my IPad and also shortened it (not in Imovie, but in my camera function). When I now look at this footage in my photo gallery on my Mac, they are there in the cropped and cut version, but once I insert them into Imovie on my Mac, they go back to their original form, that dhouldn’t even exist anymore because I have modified it. How the hell is this even possible?

The second issue, is that when I insert images into IMovie, the picture moves from left to right on the image, as the video progresses. How can I prevent this and just have a steady image in there that is shown as a whole and where I can decide how long it‘s shown, so that it matches with my voice over.
