I have an iMac 2013 27β that Iβm going to replace the hdd with an ssd. I plan on starting over from new and downloading a new fresh copy of the operating system and a new iCloud. Currently I canβt do any more updates unless I download a program first that will allow me to do the updates.
My question is what do I have to replace besides the hard drive for apple to think this is a newer unit and will continue to allow me to update without additional software.
The computer works just fine. I have a newer 27 as well and, other than one being ssd, and able to get updates. they are both equal in my opinion.
Thank you
