Black Friday order status, read here first before posting
Post Body

Updated 12/18/17

Hello customers. Around Black Friday we get a large volume of orders, and along with that a large volume of people asking for order status updates. I will be updating this post with some basic estimates of build times.

It is our intent to be transparent about the process here so that everyone's expectations are set realistically.

Updated 12/18/17. As of afternoon on December 18th, we are at approximately the following ship out rate:

  1. Pre Black Friday orders are at approximately 90% completion. Anything held up from before BF likely had complications in QC or were missing a lot of parts.

  2. Black Friday orders are at approximately 80% completion

  3. Cyber Weekend orders including Cyber Monday are at approximately 60% completion

  4. ETAs are not easy to predict if you haven't hit parts gathering yet, the queue is too long to accurately predict. However once parts gathering is completed we are averaging about

  5. Assembly to QC time - 1 business day

  6. QC, Burn-in, to Shipping time - 3 business days

  7. Orders are not being built on a "first in first out" schedule, so placing your order earlier in the day on Black Friday does not mean your order will be built first. After orders are approved they are assigned randomly to different pickers, builders, and QC staff, so depending on the rate that that staff member is completing their orders, you could see a few days discrepancy even for an identical order placed at the same time.

  8. Orders are prioritized firstly by APPROVAL DATE. So orders with no billing complications will tend to be worked on first, whereas orders involving any changes to address or changing parts will be put behind other orders placed around the same time. This helps us to clear out orders more quickly.

  9. If your order has not shipped by 12/18, then we will start to upgrade shipping for free to fedex express so that we can ship on 12/19 and still hit 12/22 delivery. After 12/19, select orders may get further upgraded shipping, but if you live on the east coast then we probably won't make it in time for your Christmas. West Coast orders and especially California still have a chance.

Some other notes

  1. Over the Thanksgiving weekend we usually get around 10-20x the orders we can build in a given day. This pushes the build times out 2-3 weeks from normal. If you ordered on or after Black Friday it will be normal for your order to spend a week or more stuck at a given step as we wait for systems ahead of it to clear out.
  2. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE DURING THIS TIME TO JUST ASK FOR AN ETA UNLESS YOU ARE ON SOME KIND OF LEGITIMATE TIME CONSTRAINT. You will be clogging up the phone lines for other customers who need to make order changes or address payment issues.
  3. If you ask for an ETA you will receive a canned answer, I promise you, its not possible for us to track individual orders in detail at this time of year. We're not trying to be disrespectful or lie, sit tight and we will get orders out as fast as possible.

That being said, please use this thread to ask questions, vent, etc. If you have a real concern about your order and are unable to contact our customer support, please PM me or /u/iBUYPOWER-Jerry. Please do not PM us both. Keep in mind that we may take up to 24 hours to respond, but are generally quick to respond during working hours.
