I have a distant (but free!) laundry center at my apartment, but I did not plan for how to do it… this is a cautionary tale
Post Body

I let my laundry build up while I didn’t feel comfortable driving (it’s only walking distance with a cart—too far to carry) and suddenly I just… had nothing.

I asked my precious coworker to come help me do the carrying and transferring while I could do the folding and sorting, and she could help me get it upstairs.

Y’all.

She took 10 loads of laundry (I did every sheet, blanket, and towel I was a sweaty bitch in recovery) to her house and did them for me. I just can’t explain how much it meant to me to have someone so on my side and so willing to help in such a big, time consuming way.

I wish I had taken the short walk with 2lb of laundry on my back at a time when I felt perfectly fine to do that (around day 6-7) instead of just letting it grow into a big problem. But I’m 3 weeks out, feel great, and I can’t lift still. I felt so much better and felt so capable I didn’t plan for the limitations I have.

So anyway, if you have a detached laundry situation, maybe have a plan to either dial in your fabric use or establish a plan to deal with the filth!

I hope everyone is doing well!!
