Hey again! So I’m scheduled for August 5 for lap hysterectomy (leaving both ovaries) due to excessive bleeding. Can last between 5 weeks and 7 months, but then it’s also gone up to 4 months without bleeding at all 😒 I’ve done every birth control hormone to try to help and they’re all useless.
At my pre op appointment a week ago, my surgeon gave me a 5 day rx of TXA and my god, by the end of day 3 on it, my SEVEN MONTH stretch of bleeding stopped entirely. Today is day 7 since starting it and I still have yet to even spot!
I know this isn’t a solution, but did anyone pursue this route to help for a while before eventually doing surgery? If I could potentially live a normal life for 6 or more months before surgery, when it’s a more convenient time for me in my life, that would be a literal miracle.
I know it can come with risks so I guess I’m here to see if it’s worked for anyone in the temporary before they were able to have surgery (which I really don’t want).
