I currently have this in my config
exec-once = swww init
exec = swww img /path/to/wall.png
The swww-daemon is running as expected, but swww won't change the wallpaper on hyprland startup, which I assume is cuz of some kind of race condition between hyprland's own wallpaper and swww?It does, however, change on config reload as expected (since exec
)
How do I make swww change the wallpaper on startup so I don't need to manually reload the config or use the swww command?
I haven't really tried other wallpaper programs but may switch to hyprpaper or something since I don't really use all of swww's features, but knowing the reason and the fix would be better if I encounter it again with some other program.
EDIT:
the latest swww build seems to fuck with my system, freezing the screen and keyboard mouse don't work... (can't switch to tty now can I?)
even just running the swww -h
command results in the same (so it's reproducible for me) and now I don't even know anymore
And none of the solutions in comments seemed to work with the previously installed release so switching to hyprpaper
