Would You Fight for your freedom in the Clone Wars?
Post Body

Here's the situation. An agency has been quietly kidnapping and replacing people with clones for the past 50 years. In typical YA novel fashion, after a series of dramatic events, a small group of spunky teenagers uncovers the conspiracy to the world.

The organization is investigated and, according to them, about half the population is made up of clones at this point. The purpose was to improve humanity as a whole. Clones are just slightly smarter and more physically capable, less prone to disease etc than their originals.

A test is devised to determine who is or isn't a clone. They can't tell when you were created, only that you are not the original. All memories and personality are transferred at the time of replacement.

You test positive for clone DNA. You are a clone. You have no idea when the original you was killed and replaced with the current you, just that it happened in the last 50 years. All clones are outed on a daily publicized list

As people find out they are clones, mass civil unrest rises. The most extreme people (about 25%) believe clones are an abomination and should all be destroyed.

Most people (about 50%) believe clones are a threat to humanity as we know it, and should not be be killed but should not be allowed to procreate either, either via chemical or surgical sterilization.

And finally some are clone sympathizers, who fully empathize with clones lack of agency in the entire situation. Clone sympathizers believe in equal rights for everyone, but just like those who want all clones destroyed, they are a minority.

Your friends and loved ones are all originals and make up an even mix of those types listed above. Some are disgusted by the mere sight of you. And while some may still care about you, you are a reminder of the person they lost and they don't want you in their life anymore. You find home/community amongst other clones in a clone shelter.

Over the next couple years, things get worse and worse. Human vs clone violence is commonplace, aggressors on both sides. Public opinion sways against clones. Political leaders are pushing new legislation.

Best case scenario; segregation. You'll be forced to wear a badge denoting your clone status at all times. Registered online like a sex offender. Not allowed to own your own vehicle or travel without clearance. Essentially you'll be a second class citizen. Worst case scenario; All clones will be rounded up and destroyed.

Your fellow clones ask if you will join in them in revolution. This will require taking hostages and occupying residential homes and public spaces. Your friends and loved ones may be among those hostages. They might even be killed in the fallout.

What would you do?
