Could be anything from simple torture methods to more elaborate psychological/sociological scenarios designed to drive folks mad (a la The Good Place, that one episode of Twilight Zone)
He simply wishes to know improvements he can make to his methods, as he has not received unbiased feedback in a couple of thousand years. If you have a particularly good idea, he might even spare you from torture.
