How can I safely stop metoprolol?
Post Body

26M. For reference, I was originally put on 25mg twice a day back in mid-October of 2023. I am now down to 12.5 mg twice a day. I was originally prescribed metoprolol for heart palpitations. This medication never helped with my palpitations and has made me feel like crap ever since. I recently discovered my palpitations are most likely caused by a vitamin D deficiency I was unaware I had combined with severe sleep apnea I've just recently started treating

I talked to my cardiologist, and he said to just quit without any sort of tapering, but after seeing some horror stories on here, I'd prefer to get some secondary opinions.

My initial thoughts were to drop to 6.25mg (1/4 pill) twice a day for a month, then down to 6.25mg once a day for a month, then down to 6.25mg every other day for a month but I feel this may be overkill.

Edit-added the rough date I started taking metoprolol and fix spelling errors. Added age and gender for better context
