I didnāt use the Capital H-word Hypersexuality, but I shared some experiences, and everyone was supportive and even intrigued! I learned I wasnāt the only one, and I even got to help some of them learn things about themselves. Others were more on the hyposexual scale, but they asked a lot of questions anyway.
We were all terrified to talk about this stuff in fear of being āthe only freak of the group,ā so itās nice to be reminded that this stuff is only deemed taboo by the vague societal standard, not by friends who actually want to understand you. It was also nice to learn that people who were the opposite of me actually thought THEY were the abnormal ones. Here I was thinking they had better self-control and rationality than me, meanwhile they considered me āimpressiveā and āexperienced,ā lol. Guess the standards for sex are too strict for anyone to feel normal these days.
Iām lucky to know such supportive people, and Iām glad I decided to break the ice despite my fears. If you told me this a year ago, I would not have believed you.
