Adjusted my pH and ... roots went brown then died
Post Body

I'm running a DWC system with 20 liters using GH Flora Series nutrient. Two weeks ago I finally bought some pH Down and adjusted my pH levels.. immediatly all the roots went brown, and over time they grew darker and more slimy.

I went from a pH of 7.8 to 5.7-6.3

I'm growing two basils, four mints, one thyme and one pea plant.

New roots started springing out, this time they were thicker and clear white, looking a lot more healthy. Water didn't smell, tho. Yesterday I finally had enough and cut the old roots, trying to damage the new ones as little as possible.

I hope that my plants are still alive when I get home from work today, but who knows. Has anybody else have this happen to them? Why did my roots die, and how come the new ones are unaffected? Why are the new roots so much healthier looking?

Thanks!
