So I've been lurking for a while and my interest has been steadily growing (pun intended). I want to start by growing lettuce using the kratky method but I have so many questions. So here goes:

• I want to grow in Coco substrate. Anything I should keep in mind when buying it or will any brick of Coco humus from Amazon work?

• Containers: is there an alternative to plastic? Metal? Ceramic? If choosing plastic: what type of plastic will not give off chemicals into the water that the plants will absorb?

• LEDs: what's a good LED? Recommendations? How much watt per plant?

• Nutrient solution? Any recommendations? I have really no idea what to look for here...
