I’m needing to modify a reservation by dropping off the last night of an upcoming stay, so I contact reservations and they say they can modify but that it’ll change the rates for the nights I’m keeping. Like what? Why??? A modification is changing one thing and leaving the rest the same. But that’s not what Hyatt is doing - they’re simply canceling and rebooking at today’s rates.
So I contact my Hyatt concierge and she says the same thing - that rates are subject to change. Ya I know, which is why I’m trying to keep the rates I already had booked and just drop the last night off of my reservation. But she says that’s not a thing.
So ya Hyatt, what gives? Yall don’t do actual modifications? That’s weird.
Anyone been able to successfully get a reservation modified without needing to rebook at current rates? Or am I being completely unreasonable?
EDIT: this is not a case of booking multiple nights discounts the rate. If you look at each individual night, it prices the same as booking all the nights together.
