Can changing the temperature on one mini split change the other mini splits on the same three zone compressor?

Post Body

I’m fairly new to heating with mini splits. We have a three zone unit two of the units are in bedrooms upstairs. One of them is in the main living area downstairs. I have noticed that when I change the temperature downstairs the temperature and the two rooms upstairs also goes up despite not being changed at all. I keep a couple of nest sensors in my two kids bedrooms and when they go to bed my Wi-Fi or watch TV I usually keep the downstairs mini splits up to 68, but sometimes, I change it a little at night maybe from 68 to 72 when I do that I’ll see the temperature creep up on the two devices upstairs. Is this normal? I have all three of them in heat mode and I’ve resorted to turning the temperature down to 62 for the upstairs units but it will still reach 70°. There might be a size issue with my set up. Admittedly, the cooling load is much heavier on the upstairs devices so they’re oversized for heating because you have such a problem with the sun and the type of roof we have in the summer being relentless. So essentially, I’m just changing the temperature downstairs not touching the temperature on the two upstairs yet via a separate thermometer. I have an each one of their rooms. I see the temperature rise shortly after making a change on the downstairs mini split.
