Iv been having issues with our AC this whole summer. Mostly the system doesn’t cool when the sun is out and will only drop temp at night. Saw the outside fan wasn’t spinning unless I gave it a push. Had a HVAC company come out last week and replaced the capacitor. The house has been slighter cooler, but now that the 100s are coming back, it’s been around 86 in the house when it’s set to 72.
Called the same company back and was told the refrigerant is over charged and it would be 400. I was told this last time as well, but they made it seem like it needed to be fixed as an option and the capacitor would fix my issues. I took a picture of the guys phone. Not sure how to read it. Also wondering if this is something we are able to fix ourselves?

With negative superheat and significantly high subcooling, if this is a txv the valve is not restricted in any way whatsoever. This unit seems overcharged with your symptoms. Too many people say txv that do not have a clue. Have them come recover some gas out of it and fix it. Someone who didn’t know what they were doing at some point added gas.
