New homeowner here, I have central air. I’ve noticed my AC doesn’t cool the house down very efficiently, the air coming out of the vents is cold but for a 1200 sq ft house it really takes hours. I’ve noticed in my basement (only other level in house) there is 4 vents in the air ducting that blow a strong flow of cool air, the basement is cold enough as it is with the AC off. Would removing and replacing these vents with continuous ducting or sealing them Off help push more air through the system into the main level to cool more efficiently. Being that air is obviously escaping the system to cool the basement which doesn’t need it. Any and all advice is welcome, TIA
