I need help with an issue.
Issue: Master bedroom. I hear a single tap noise in my Master bedroom ceiling about 2 minutes before the AC thermostat 'clicks' and the AC starts blowing air. This is in the master bedroom.
Issue 2: Master closet. When the AC runs I occasionally hear multiple 'taps' on the ceiling. It sounds like it's coming from behind the ceiling tube light fixture which is about a foot away from the AC vent.
AC Unit: Goodman Electric Heat Pump zoned to a 2 storey new build.
Other info: - I do not recall hearing this noise when we had the heat on. - There is an attic above the master bedroom which can be accessed. However, above the master closet is another room so we do not have visibility above the ceiling there. - Master bedroom nosies are more audible and noticeable at night.
Builder HVAC tech: Visited the house and checked the AC system. Said it was working fine. He heard the tapping noise but was unable to diagnose the problem. Builder techs are sometimes not the best quality.
What could this possibly be? What would be appropriate method or steps to diagnose this problem?
I'm happy to share pictures and additional photographs.
Please help. Thank you so much.
