Post Body

Looking for your thoughts on my ductwork system I got some pictures of the existing stuff. I am taking it all out, except for the return and supply Plenums. Here are the details:

  • Size: 1500 sq. ft.
  • Floors: 2 floors unfinished basement
  • Built: 1900s -Furnace: 60,000 btu w/ uninsulated ductwork
  • Insulation: New spray foam around basement perimeter

Issues: - Uneven heating - Hot and cold spots - Inadequate duct design - Lack of return registers

Questions: are the 2 16x10 trunk ducts on my supply big enough!? On the new system, Iā€™m gonna have three 6ā€ branches off each 16 x 10 trunk.

Please check out the attached pictures and floor plans. Any suggestions, improvements, or red flags?
