Need advice on replacing thermostat?

To preface - I'm dumb to all things HVAC. I was told I needed to replace this thermostat due to the issues I'm having. I can't find this exact thermostat at a reasonable price to replace it with. My question is - can I replace it with another brand thermostat? And if so, does anyone have any reasonably priced suggestions? Thanks!
