Hey there HVAC Pros! Huge respect for what you guys do. I love learning about your trade whenever I can.
My dog and I recently moved into a new rental. It has this floor furnace right in the middle of the hallway. Iβve had a rug over it so my dog can comfortably walk through the hall, but now that itβs getting colder we will need to run the heat soon and remove the rug full time.
The 16βx28β metal grate gets hot to the touch when the furnace is running.
Are there any products I can use to replace or put on top of the metal grate so that it is safe for my dog to walk on while the house is being heated?
If not, are there any products I can use to coat the metal grate to reduce how hot it is? Silicone?
Do you HVAC Pros have any other ideas on how I can make this a safer and more comfortable situation?
Many thanks!
