Greetings,
I have purchased 3 x 12k BTU 240 volt units to be used for an upgrade.
The existing outdoor HVAC unit is likely original to 1989. It appears to be powered by a run of approximately 25 feet of what I believe to be 10 gauge wire.
North side of the house: I am hoping that I can power two of the mini split heat pumps with that 10 gauge wiring. I believe the tied 30 am breakers in the middle of the breaker box go to the original condenser.
South side of the house, near the main breaker box: I would use the spaces and possibly the breakers labeled SPA to power at least one 12k btu unit on the south side of the house. A second unit would be required to make the whole building comfortable. I would like to put in a subpanel that would eventually serve two 12k btu units.
Can I run two of these units on the wiring used for the original condenser? I hope to get all of the wiring and systems fully installed in parallel to the original system then switching the supply circuit to a sub panel serving two units when everything else that can be done is completed.
If anyone wishes for me to clarify anything please feel free to ask.
Thank you.
