Puppy has worms
Post Body

Hi! I’m a little upset today. I got my little Draco, a husky (8wks) from the breeder a week ago. She stated on the AKC (American Kennel Club) that the puppies have been vaccinated etc. I pick him up, take him home and I’m in puppy heaven. I take him to the vet because he’s been having loose stool and frequent poops. I’m told by the vet the shots that were given weren’t valid along with the dewormer. Might I add the breeder also said he was negative for worms as well. The vet said he needed to be dewormed properly and get his shots over again. It was a steep first vet bill but I paid it for the health of my puppy. I get a call the next day and the vet says he has a pretty bad case of worms. Which I know dogs can get them so I then proceed to prepare to deal with said issue. I paid for a prescription clay to help form his poop form more as he goes through this process. Can anyone offer me any advice? Im beyond overwhelmed because this was something I was not expecting to deal with and im having to take even more time than before cleaning and sanitizing the house and outside. It’s been a lot. Should I ask for some of my money back from the breeder since he was technically wasn’t vaccinated? Should I report the breeder on the AKC website? Should I be sanitizing things down more than I already am? How do I dispose of the poop properly without infecting the dog, myself, and the house? (If you can’t tell I’m a first time dog owner) Any advice would help ease my mind and heart. I hope you all are having a great day and your life be filled with peace!
