defensive in her house
Post Body

I've got a year old husky malamute female. She goes to my friends house twice a week for the majority of the day while I'm at work. They have a husky and a boxer that she plays with. She has zero issues there and plays and plays.

However, I'm husky sitting their dog for a few days and my dog has been defensive about weird things.

My dog(Ki) wouldn't let their dog (Ghost) anywhere near the people in the house without me explicitly saying it was okay. She would body block him and then growl if he got near.

After a few times of me pulling her away and saying it was okay. She stopped doing that.

Now in the mornings. She doesn't let him near me when I'm asleep. Same block/growl.

I have a doggy door that they were going out of all the time. After about a day though. She started completely not letting him use it. Especially about coming in. She'll snap at him if he tries to come in but if I open the door and let him in. Zero issues.

She tolerates him eating bones/ playing with toys around her. No growling or anything. She won't share a toy she's using though, but won't attack him if he's using his own.

She watches him like a hawk. Everywhere. And if I go to say hi and pet him. She's like very close to watch and be jealous.

It all seems a bit weird to me. Besties at the park and his house but at hers. She's territorial.

When I correct her. I give her a hard firm no and grab her and hold her. I don't scream or hurt her or pin her down.

I don't have much experience with this type of thing and not sure exactly the best way to address it.

Thoughts?
