A question about biting / nibbling
Post Body

Iā€™ve had my husky for about 7/8ish months now, since he was able to leave his mom. Since then heā€™s chewed on the coffee table MAAAAYBE twice, and with patience and training hasnā€™t chewed up anything else. No other furniture, no shoes, no cables, remotes, etc. If it hasnā€™t been given to him as his toy, he hasnā€™t chewed on it....

EXCEPT HANDS

Iā€™ve read conflicting information and this is where my question comes in. Do you, and should I let my husky nibble on my hand? He usually goes for it when Iā€™ve come home from work and is excited to see me, or when heā€™s got some bursts of energy. On rare occasions itā€™s a very firm, aaalmost painful bite, but he knows the words ā€œouchā€ and ā€œgentleā€ and will usually ease off. Otherwise itā€™s usually tender.

Iā€™ve read that this is a bad habit and shouldnā€™t be allowed, to direct him towards a bone or a hard chewing toy instead. I have ALSO read this is a sign of affection for huskies and itā€™s important to let him do it within reason.

Any advice or other articles would be greatly appreciated.
