I don't really have family members I can ask for financial help. I'm an apprentice working in Northwest Territories and I found a dog abandoned by a "local" family. They bought, and brought the husky pup to their reserve settlement, but they moved away in the spring because they didn't want to live in a dry community and he got too big (not a puppy) for them to handle.

I inquired with them and purchased him for$200. His kennel cost $319 and getting it here was $44. Because this is a fly-in-only location, for me to get him home to Alberta his flights will cost me $372 and $236. That's $971 before I even get him to the vet.

I have owned him for 8 weeks now and he loves the care I've given him since, and being tucked in, outside every night, in his kennel on a heated mat (I can't bring him inside the work house).
