My Lord Mo’ala,

I beg you forgive the delay in this second report, and my abrupt ending of the previous report. I will endeavor to make future reports as detailed as I can.

​

We have, as of yesterday, finished building proper housing for our captured Solarians. You will be delighted to know that the Vacuum Isolated Containment Platform was deployed successfully.

We have, however, had some issues with the recovery and collection systems on board the V.I.C.P., stemming mostly from the Solarians unwillingness to comply with reasonable requests.

Once placed within the newly deployed platform, we set the local atmosphere to match that of their home planet as a gesture of good will, in order to promote cooperation. Our subjects were then instructed to cease any and all atmospheric alterations in order to preserve the gas levels set upon the V.I.C.P.’s deployment. They were told, of course, that in the interest of maintaining system integrity, humidity should be kept to the barest minimum.

Over the next few hours, despite our protests, they had managed to raise both humidity and temperatures to nearly unbearable levels. Though the Solarians were chastised thoroughly for this, they did not stop.

It is here I must thank you. In your far-sighted wisdom, we have engineers specifically trained for this experimental platform with us, and as of now have purged the offending gasses and vapors several times. They have taken up the project of enabling the platform to automatically vent off the extra gasses in an effort to prevent future damage.

On another note, several more of our medical crew have become stricken with the Solarian Awe during the performance of a breakdown of a Solarian subject, who, after moving to the new habitat, seemed to have shut down abruptly.

​

The subject’s radiation levels lowered to a reasonable level, and it was moved to the medical wing in order to determine why. When the attending staff began the breakdown and diagnosis, the subject spontaneously restarted, vibrated at a high rate, increased radiation levels to an immense degree, and shut down again. The staff’s gear was insufficient to protect against this sudden assault, so the exposed personnel had to be evacuated to the Med-bay on the ship. Currently we suspect a core meltdown, and while the subject has since ceased all activity, that section of the medical wing had to be sealed off to prevent any spillover into the rest of the platform. We intend to reenter and recover the subject as soon as it is safe to do so.

We intend to start harvesting viability experiments tomorrow, and with Our Lady’s blessing, all will go well.
