Is there a professional way to tell your coworkers not to add you in group texts?

Post Body

I am an HR assistant at a decent sized organization. There are about 19 of us HR professionals in total. This does not include payroll and PR or WC.

There are many senior aged leadership in our group. They have taken it upon themselves to create group text messages and add everyone in the department to send Holiday or completely random texts. This ends up looking like 50 text messages at roughly 7am on a weekend or day off. I have my phone on vibrate but it does make a loud noise on my night stand. I don't want to silence my phone. I don't feel like I should need to. I feel like it's more reasonable to not expect non work related texts in mass being an issue.

I have silenced multiple group chats that they have created but they seem to be creating a new chat each time. I've wanted to say something to higher leadership but my environment is not the best. These ladies have not been kind to me from the start of my working there. (I came from medical and had no prior HR experience. They looked down on me and bullied me.)

Given this information, am I stuck continuously silencing multiple group chats or should I say something to higher leadership? I do feel like if I say something the bullying will start again.
