HR here, I work for a very small company. NY here. A candidate (who is in CA) who was not selected for a role asked for feedback. As a general rule, I do not do this to mitigate risk, but I realized that I somehow in my career have never had to decline giving feedback in an email before.

But what's the best language -- that's clear but a bit friendly and empathetic -- to politely decline providing feedback?
