New to the profession, I’d appreciate some feedback please!
Manager of a warehouse called- he had a referral from one of his team leads for an associate position. The candidate was a good interview. He extended an offer & it was accepted. After, the second team lead approached & said other associates reported seeing pictures on 1st lead’s Facebook indicating they were in a relationship with candidate. There’s nothing concrete, just photos that could-or-couldn’t be.
If hired, this candidate would be reporting to 1st lead.
I advised to have a conversation with 1st lead and probe for more information about how she knew candidate and why she referred him. See where the conversation goes. If she doesn’t disclose a relationship, to be on the watch for any special treatment, PDA, etc.
If she does disclose, I advised to move candidate into 2nd lead’s reporting structure.
What’s the pulse check— did I give good advice? What should I have done different?
Thx Reddit!
