I overthink/react when someone forgets my birthday

I don’t know why I’m so sensitive about birthdays. My mind can go quite extreme, like “the more people remember your bday, the more popular and loved you are. Because at least they remember to say happy birthday.” I hate myself for thinking like this BECAUSE I know it’s not true. I had few of my friends who forgot my bday or didn’t say anything and it broke my heart. Is it a common thing for people to forget about others’ birthdays? Do people not actually care about birthdays as much I freak out about mine?
