I want to make a short film using the technique they use in the documentary American: The Bill Hicks Story. Specifically, the scenes where they give a 3D feeling to the images.

I just want to know if there are any tutorials, videos of people explaining the technique more, or even just the software needed to produce the effect. Thanks
