The pilot starts of with ted waking up comically yelling honey i had the worst dream then tracy comes along from the next room and says it was just a dream go back to sleep. (Yes i want to retcon the horrible ending).

This series should follow the same format as the original i.e. how the main character met the kids mother. This time we will be following Luke Mosby played by david henry who followed in his fathers footsteps and became and architect.

Luke has to leave new york to go to his new job in the Uk (why the uk because i think something about i captures the early 2000s feels think elsex education or 'you'). Uncle barney tasks luke to look out for his daughter (casting unknown?) who is also studying in the UK.

Luke would need a catalyst to want to be married like when marshal proposed to lilly. So lets have this catalyst be Ted's daughter wedding its nice opportunity to bring back the original cast in a meaningful way and impart their knowledge onto luke.

Luke will also need someone to fill the role of best friend in this case i want his best friend to bee more of the barney archetype (insert name? Jon). Where as barney's daughter would be more of marshall /lilly type character. Barneys daughter won't be part of the main cast becusse of their age gap so luke more goes to her for advice at piviotal points.

So i would like to avoid the short coming of the original series and have the new mother be one of 3 characters we introduce in the pilot. These 3 characters dont need to be main characters for every season but they will be reoccurring to the point that by time the end whoever we do choose to be the mother is a well developed fleshed out character.

As luke moves to lond he lives over a bar new york themed maybe? Called big apple. So he unpacks his stuff has a big sigh im bored and says nothing a pint of beer cant solve. So there he oes to bar and meets his new best friend. We are introduce to the 'spot' where we will see all the main characters always hangung out.

So luke is sitting at the bar and in comes Jon with a one line for luke. New in town? Yeah just move from the big apple? Looks down Looks up "you see how that is funny right". And nothing more they just are best friends from there on out.

We meet rhe 3 potential mothers in a game of have you met luke at the start.

My plan for this series would be a 3 season run. And i propose we bring back network sitcoms or atleast the weekly realease form so a regular 40ish minute episode and 22 episode season. Green light the series for 3 seasoms lff the bat cus lets be real no modern sitcom has reached the level of anything out of the early 2000s cus modern streamers could never appreciate the highs and the lows. Also we would want to try and capture as much as the early 2000s of the original as possible so make smart phone use minimal and social media none at all.
