All the time I've lived in Houston and never really heard the city talk about our hockey franchise. They started in the 70s, came back in the 90s and left us about 2011. I was born in 94 and started going to Lakewood Church as long as I could remember. I was shocked by how huge it was but never knew it was the arena before the Toyota Center. Being such a fan of hockey now, I would love to see the city represent the sport again. It would have been amazing to go to a game like that.
Did you ever go to a game or get to watch it on tv? Have you ever met the legend Gordie Howe or his sons? That would have been a dream come true.
