Before anyone says wrong sub, I posted in r/Texaslegal, still awaiting a response.
I recently interviewed to be an Amazon driver (I don't want to hear anyone remind me that they're the devil. I already know, I just need merney), and in the interview, the recruiter stated that normally drivers make $18/hr, but I would start at $20/hr, since they will be making that transition soon.
Today, received a text message from the recruiter stating they would like to move forward, listed all the details, and listed the $18/hr as base pay. I asked if he meant $20/hr, to which he corrected himself and said. I asked if he could provide that in a written offer, as some red flags immediately went off due to previous experiences (non related), but he didn't answer with a yes or no, only responded with the Quest lab info to perform the drug test. I asked again, to which he only responded "the text message is the job offer".
I don't want to accept the offer, since it seems he didn't want to provide it right away, but don't want to keep pushing and make him rescind the offer. I know, when meeting the right requirements, a text message could suffice as a legally binding contract, but I want to be 110% sure, being that who I'm up against is a worldwide industry. Does anyone know where this stands?
Thanks in advance, and again, if you were skimming through without fully reading, I've already asked this in the correct sub.
