Hopefully, we can make it easier to search for regional information that way.
If you have a resource you want me to tack on to this post, tag me or send it through chat request.
Additionally, if your church or organization is offering help to the public, I'll post it on this thread, but let's follow the zip code rule.
Also, remember you're not the only one going through this and be thoughtful and empathetic to those around you and the resources you're obtaining.
Additionally, take this as an opportunity to meet your neighbors and help and check on elderly ones as this heat could be deadly for them.

If you see a pet, especially one with a collar, please take into account it escaped during the storm and their parents are looking for it and see if you can help it get back to its home.
If you need to evacuate your home due to damage, please tack into this thread or start a new one to help others go through the same process.

Think about your placement of your generator.
For the sake of your sanity and overall well-being, get out of the house and socialize with friends, or simply go out.
While I've been out and about this week, some of the damage I've seen is fairly catastrophic and will take time to replace.
Part of me wonders how many poles and transformers are readily available.
Yeah, I was thinking that the first day. There are plenty of puns, but few that are appropriate.
I just didn't want to repeat my movie puns.
It was hard enough to match the sequel number with a title.
Agreed.
But in this context, customers equate to "households."
That's very true.
A tree at a friend's place withstood derecho, but immediately fell over before beryl fully hit.
I'd imagine the same is true for not only the trees but also for a variety of infrastructure that barely held on to begin with.
Few people are taking that into consideration, and I don't have the time or energy to argue that point.
Having driven by that area, the number of trees, poles, and overall wreckage seems fairly substantial.
True, but there are a myriad of things to complain about:
Xfinity.
Alleged price gouging.
Centerpoint website, reporting, maps, costs, slow response, etc
Abbott
There are so many things, but there are different ways to file a complaint.
Because the marines ran out of crayons.

This makes me thankful all my In-laws are across the country.
Every day experiences is a life lesson.
our power comes from rear of the property between yards. Fucking sucks ass.
Out of context.....
That depends on the demographic of the type of household involved.
For apartments in the montrose, I've been using 1.3, for homes, 2.5 to 2.8 is reasonable.
That's cool.
I like my In-laws, but they can be a tad sensitive.

Looking back at day 7 of the derecho megathread, there were 27k without power compared to the 400 today.
I was hoping tomorrow was the last megathread, but I'm afraid I could be wrong.
