I've seen this over and over in this sub and now I'm the latest victim. Farmers decided to not renew my homeowners policy after being with them for 25 years. Sadly, we've had excellent service from them for that entire time.
Who knows why? Maybe it was because of the claim I put in last week for the roof damage from my neighbors tree. Maybe it's just because of my zip code. It doesn't matter since I basically have until July 30 to get these repairs done so that I can get another insurer to inspect and cover me.
My broker, although a farmers company, has other insurers. If I want to go with a big name like State Farm, Allstate, etc., I can as well when the time comes. But I'm dead in the water until the Farmers inspector comes out next week and I get these repairs done.
Just wanted to vent and commiserate with all those others who have received non-renewal notices from their homeowners insurance carrier.
