Hi everyone first I wanna say I understand the severity of drinking and driving I don’t condone nor will I ever drink and drive again. This is an experience I wish to never cross my paths again and will preach to everyone how severe this is let alone the danger it can cause.
Background: I’m originally from Dallas but was in town for my bestfriends birthday we had a party at his house which is where I was staying I had three drinks in my system but it was an hour later when I left to go buy something from the corner store down the street but that’s when I passed a police roadblock the officer approached my car and asked me if I saw the police car which was on the left side of the street I was driving on the right and so I told him I thought I could pass and go through another way. He asked if I had been drinking which at first I said no but retracted and said I had 2-3 drinks at a party I was at down the street. He then proceeded to give me field tests which I wasn’t able to do due to the police car behind us flashing it’s lights & so he took me to a gas station where I did 3 field tests he then proceeded to let me know that he thought the drinks were still in my system which he then read me a laminated paper asking for my consent to a breathalyzer test at a station nearby I blew .118 the first try and the second time I blew a .14 and he arrested me for a dwi and took me downtown I got release with a GOB bond spent the entire night in day in processing. And now I am looking for an attorney but as I mentioned I’m not from Houston I live in Dallas and my court date is Friday morning any advice is appreciated. I found one lawyer who my friends recommended but he is charging me $15k off the bat. So please any advice or attorney recommendations are appreciated.
