Watering cacti and succulents

Post Body

Is it a good idea to quite lightly spray the top soil of cacti and to a lesser extent succulents? Assuming they mostly evolved in hot dry climates, they would at least get some morning dew before the heat of the day begins. Would this be noticeably beneficial to them? And have other effects such as encouraged root growth?

I grow indoors, nice and warm in here, but cold outside. I have a pretty large variety of cacti now, mostly inherited, all in small-medium houseplant size pots.

I realise this question might not have answers that are applicable to all cacti and succulents because they come from vastly different climates sometimes. So I guess Iโ€™m being quite broad.

P.S. sorry if itโ€™s the wrong flair, also Iโ€™m on mobile.
