I got this about a month and a half ago, and it was being sold as a ponytail palm. But the pot is packed with babies, not just one like I usually see. Ive been putting off repotting because im not sure if i need to separate them, plus i have limited room (unless is okay in low light, i could move some to the living room). There are 9 total in this pot!! And i removed two tiny ones when I got it (4th pic, Silicon pot. It has drainage holes, no worries! Also i think thats a soil mite on its leaf, I think it was going twards my grow light? It went back into the soil and disappeared, I dont see it often so i assume hes a friend?)
So my question is this when the time comes should I repot them together undisturbed (no roots coming out of the bottom drainage yet) Or should I divide them and repot asap? (Reminder, 9 babies in this pot. Two are small. I bottom water this one, but the Silicon pot gets top watered)
I know some plants like to be pot bound and snug, but this is my first "palm" (i heard ponytail palms arent actually palm trees? Can someone tell me why? Lol) and I REALLY dont want to kill it...im absolutely trash with succulent type plants, so id love some guidance😅❤ Thanks plant fam!
I hope everyone experiencing this storm is safe, and I hope your plants are as well!! ❤
