Visiting Her Mom

The weekend after Elise’s big transformation, we decided to visit her mom, Diane, at her house in the suburbs. Diane had always been close with Elise, and she was eager to see her daughter’s new look.

As we pulled into her driveway, Elise glanced at me, her newly blonde pixie shimmering in the afternoon sun. “You think she’ll like it?”

I gave her a reassuring smile. “She’ll love it. You look great, Elise.”

She grinned, squeezing my hand as we got out of the car.

Diane greeted us at the door with her usual warm smile, but her eyes widened the moment she saw Elise. “Oh, my goodness! Look at you!” she exclaimed, pulling Elise into a hug. “You’re like a whole new person!”

Elise laughed, stepping back to let her mom get a better look. “You like it?”

“Like it? I love it! The short hair suits you so well. And blonde? Who would’ve thought!” Diane turned to me with a knowing smile. “Robert, what do you think of this big change?”

“It’s different,” I admitted, “but she looks beautiful.”

Diane nodded approvingly, ushering us inside. “Well, come in, come in. I want to hear all about it.”

We spent the first hour chatting in the living room, Diane grilling Elise about her decision to cut her long hair and dye it blonde. Elise told her the story, leaving out some of the more complicated details, and Diane seemed genuinely thrilled.

As the conversation flowed, Diane leaned toward me when Elise went to grab a drink from the kitchen. “Robert, she mentioned something interesting when we last talked.”

“Oh?” I asked, feeling a twinge of curiosity.

She lowered her voice slightly. “She mentioned James.”

I blinked, my heart skipping a beat. “She did?”

Diane nodded, her expression unreadable. “I couldn’t quite tell what she was getting at, but it sounded like... he’s more than just a friend, isn’t he?”

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. “It’s... complicated, Diane. But yes, they’re close.”

Her brow furrowed slightly as she studied me. “And you’re okay with that?”

“It’s... something we’ve discussed a lot,” I said carefully. “It’s not traditional, but it works for us.”

Before Diane could ask more, Elise returned, handing me a drink. “What are you two whispering about?”

“Nothing,” Diane said with a smile. “But now that you’re back, I’ve got an idea. Why don’t we invite James over for dinner? I’d love to meet him properly.”

Elise’s face lit up. “Really? You want to meet James?”

“Of course,” Diane said. “He sounds like an important part of your life.”

Without hesitation, Elise pulled out her phone. “I’ll text him right now.”

Dinner

By the time James arrived, the table was set, and the smell of Diane’s famous roast chicken filled the house. He walked in with his usual confidence, carrying a bottle of wine and a charming smile.

“James!” Elise greeted him warmly, hugging him as he stepped inside.

“Thanks for inviting me,” James said, glancing at me with a nod before turning to Diane. “You must be Elise’s mom. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Diane smiled, shaking his hand. “Likewise, James. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

We settled at the table, the conversation light at first—small talk about James’s work, Diane’s garden, and Elise’s new hairstyle. But as the meal progressed, Diane’s questions grew more pointed.

“So, James,” Diane began, her tone casual but her eyes sharp. “How long have you and Elise known each other?”

James leaned back slightly, his smile never faltering. “A little over a year now.”

“And you’re... close?”

Elise jumped in quickly. “Mom, don’t interrogate him!”

Diane waved her off with a smile. “I’m just curious, honey. It’s not every day I meet someone who’s your boyfriend.”

James glanced at me briefly before answering. “Yes, Diane, we’re close. Elise is very special to me.”

Diane’s eyes flicked to me. “And you’re okay with this, Robert? With their... closeness?”

I shifted in my seat, feeling the weight of her gaze. “It’s not a conventional situation, but yes. We’ve talked about it a lot, and we’re both happy.”

Diane nodded slowly, as if processing my words. “I see. And James, how do you feel about all this? Being part of something so... unconventional?”

James’s smile softened. “I think it’s about trust and understanding. Elise and Robert have something unique, and I respect that. I just want us all to be happy.”

Diane studied him for a moment, then smiled. “That’s a good answer.”

The Kiss That Changed Everything

When dinner was over, Diane suggested we take a stroll in the garden. Elise and I strolled ahead while Diane pulled James aside for a private conversation. I glanced back occasionally, wondering what they were talking about.

Elise noticed my distracted look and nudged me. “Relax, Robert. Mom’s just getting to know him. She’s not grilling him too hard.”

“I hope not,” I said, though my curiosity was piqued.

We walked in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying the cool evening air. But when James and Diane rejoined us, their expressions were unreadable.

“Everything okay?” Elise asked, looking between them.

“Everything’s fine,” Diane said with a smile, but her tone was oddly firm. “James and I had a nice chat.”

Elise raised an eyebrow. “About what?”

Diane hesitated, then turned to James. “Why don’t you tell her?”

James glanced at me briefly before focusing on Elise. “Your mom suggested something... .”

Elise frowned. “What?”

Diane crossed her arms, her expression calm but resolute. “I told James that if he truly attracted to you, he should show me. Right now.”

Elise’s eyes widened. “Mom! What are you saying?”

Diane’s gaze didn’t waver. “I’m saying that I want to see my daughter happy. If James is the one who can make you feel that way, then I think he should.”

I stared at Diane, my mind racing. “You’re serious?”

“Dead serious,” Diane said, her tone matter-of-fact. “This isn’t about human tradition or what’s normal. It’s about Elise’s happiness.”

Elise’s face turned bright red at her mother’s bold suggestion. She glanced at me nervously, unsure of what to say. James, on the other hand, stood there, his confidence steady but waiting for Elise’s cue.

“Mom,” Elise began, her voice laced with disbelief, “you can’t just—”

“I can,” Diane interrupted gently, her tone calm but firm. “Elise, sweetheart, if this is the path you’re choosing, embrace it fully. And James, if you’re serious about her, Show us.”

James took a step toward Elise, his eyes locking with hers. “Elise,” he said softly.

Elise hesitated for a moment, her gaze flicking between her mother, James, and me. Finally, she let out a shaky breath and nodded. “Okay.”

Without another word, James reached for her, his hands gently cupping her face as he leaned in. The kiss started slow, tentative, but quickly grew deeper as Elise responded. Her hands moved to his shoulders, pulling him closer.

Diane watched them with a serene expression, her eyes flicking to me occasionally, gauging my reaction. I stood frozen, caught between shock and fascination as the scene unfolded.

“That’s better,” Diane murmured, more to herself than anyone else. But then her voice grew firmer. “James, do it properly. Pretend Robert and I aren’t even here.”

James glanced at her briefly, and her words seemed to give him more confidence. His hands slid down Elise’s arms, wrapping around her waist as the kiss intensified. Elise melted into him, her body pressing against his as his hands began to explore her curves.

I felt my breath catch as James’s fingers trailed along Elise’s back, then down to her ass cheeks. His touch was confident yet gentle, as if he knew exactly how to make her feel desired. Elise let out a soft gasp as his lips moved to her neck, and her hands clutched at his shirt.

Diane shifted beside me, her gaze unwavering. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” she said quietly, her voice filled with an odd mix of pride and curiosity.

I swallowed hard, unable to form a coherent response. The sight of Elise so openly vulnerable and passionate with James in front of her mom was both shocking and mesmerizing.

As James’s hands began to roam more freely, caressing Elise’s waist and sliding just under the hem of her blouse, Diane cleared her throat. “Perhaps... you two should take this somewhere more private,” she said, her voice quieter now, almost shy.

Elise pulled back slightly, her cheeks flushed as she looked at her mother. “Mom, I—”

“No need to explain,” Diane said quickly, waving a hand. “I think we’ve all seen enough for one evening. Go on, sweetheart.”

James didn’t wait for further encouragement. He took Elise’s hand, leading her toward the hallway without hesitation. Elise followed, casting a quick, apologetic glance at me before disappearing down the corridor.
