Never owned a hot tub. Could use some guidance.
Post Body

I’m looking for a small one or two person hot tub for my wife and I. The only problem is that all above ground hot tubs we’ve ever been in are never comfortable. They all have these weird seating arrangements that are either too sloped, too high or too low. In ground tubs are simple and great, but we don’t have that kind of money.

We don’t care about jets, led’s, or any of that fancy stuff. Just a simple insulated tub that sits outside full of hot water all the time while not breaking the power bill.

Your question about the jets and the heater being on at the same time- on 110 plug and play like an inflatable, there isn’t a leg of power for the heater and the bubbles to run at the same time. The circulation motor is different from the jet or bubble motor. On the inflatable versions that are in the 300 dollar range, you will get bubbles only, which as said above, is actually still pretty good. The inflatables are usually pvc material and actually very sturdy. Also, with 110, it will take longer to heat up, about 2 degrees and hour whereas 220 gets you 4-5 degrees an hour usually. If you enjoy that and move on to an actual tub, you can have heater and jets going at the same time if you go with 220. Some still have bubblers on them as well. Mine has a lounger and is pretty comfy but you have to try them out. You can usually find used ones very cheap or even free at times so be patient and keep an eye out if you move past inflatable. We had inflatable for a good while and enjoyed it. Finally, about the chlorine smell. That’s from the chlorine not the pee and they are just using a ton. At home, use bromine as it’s better with heat and has little smell. Good luck

Oh I wasn’t denying the fact of the pee. Ha. Your comment was just worded in a way that made me think that there was likely a ton of chlorine and was likely the cause of the smell. Probably just my misunderstanding of what you meant.
