I've mentioned before how my wife challenged me to write an erotic novel for women to keep us busy during the COVID lockdown. I'd never written a book, but it sounded like an interesting project. It ended up being a 600-page monster.
I didn't know I had a Hot Past kink -- I didn't even know such a thing existed. I knew I was pissed when my first wife had an affair, so I guess I assumed that stories of sexual adventures before marriage may have also resulted in feelings of jealousy. But they didn't -- quite the opposite.
Writing the book gave me an excuse to ask my wife all about her previous partners and what they did together. I needed all the details -- for the book of course. She happily complied -- and proofread the book several times for accuracy. She even kept details about what the characters did in the book, and with whom.
We tried to promote the book tastefully to women readers, without much success. I finally convinced her to open her own Reddit account -- u/FromThisNight -- and I took some nude photos of her. If tastefully didn't work, we'd go down the raunchy route. It's more fun anyway.
What does this have to do with Hot Past?
As the chat messages came pouring my wife was excited. I guess the thought of being desired by a 24-year-old is ego-boosting. Being desired by 30 of them is great.
And, in talking about sex, she started to tell me more stories from before we met. How a younger guy asked her to go with him to the local nude beach so he could see her body. And his not-so-subtle suggestions about what he'd like to do with her. The funny thing is that I know the guy, and has no chance with my wife. But I admire him for trying.
I'm being careful, of course, because I don't want to have her say she's had enough. On the contrary, she's now talking about our (namely me) writing a second book. Even if it doesn't sell a single copy on Amazon, it's great fun writing one. And I can ask still more questions without seeming weirdly interested.
I've learned that her memory is fluid. She remembers stories, and then conveniently forgets fucking her first husband's boss.
