Post Body

Hi all. I'm writing this while absolutely scared out of my mind that I'm going to lose my job. But I feel like this had to be done.

I'm the Front Desk Supervisor for a "workers hotel" near oil sites. In recent history,, some of my staff have told me about a LOT of harassment going on at our hotel. They said my GM was the culprit. I hadnt had any formal reports, so I moved on fully expecting one. That's been the last week and a half. For the last 2 months my GM has been absent for all but a week. Corporate trip, vacation, corporate trip. I've had no training for my position, and have lost 2 staff during this time. For the last 3 weeks the remaining two front desk agents and I have been working long days and nights, without complaint. My GM was FINALLY due back Monday. Today, actually. But the next day, this last Saturday, The other department heads and I received a text from him. He resigned effective that day. He wouldn't answer their calls, or texts. But he answered mine. He claimed it was a medical issue that required him to relocate to another state. He asked me not to call corporate for instruction until he called them. He had a history of procrastinating and putting things off on other people. So I waited until the next day to call my revenue officer. They told me they hadn't heard anything from him. They gave me an email to contact my regional director and I explained the text and asked what I should be doing. We don't have an AGM, and I'm the next closest thing. I was told to call him Monday. So I did. After our initial conversation of setting up arrangements for a task force to come assist us, I received another email from them. The GM was now only on PTO for the next 14 days. That the task force was still coming, and that we'd have help soon. Then the GM texts me. Those people that told me about the harassment had been discussing the issue with me in a group allllll day. The GM's text said I needed to stop all the gossiping by the time he came back or he'd make sure people started getting fired. He told me I needed to stop talking about him. I was enraged. I did my job in listening to those people and asking them to give a formal report. And now I'm being threatened? He then text again, and said that he told me to wait to talk to the regional director until he called them. He was angry that I decided professionally that I called who I thought needed to know about his resignation. I snapped. I told him I would resign right now if he wanted. I am not paid enough to deal with this crap, and if people wanted to pin it all on me, fine. I called the regional director nearly in tears. I told him my job was just threatened because people are talking about the harassment, and then he was mad that I called the director yadda yadda. I had the notion in my head that I had already crossed the line and was going to lose my job when GM came back. I told them about the reports of harassment. From guests and former employees, as well as some currently there. I couldn't stop myself. The girls that recently quit agreed to tell their story to the director, and I've passed that information along. But I'm terrified. This guy has gotten away with it before. I'm a father to 3 kids, and I just threw my career away with this... Unless corporate can find more evidence and do something about it, I'm going to lose my job. I don't know what to do now. I had to call another front desk worker in to work my shift and theirs from that point on. I couldn't compose myself I was so damn angry and now scared. Dunno. Maybe there's some advice you fine folks could provide?
