I recently had a bad experience staying at an accommodation via booking.com.
Long story short, the actual accommodation is not what was pictured in the listing. The place is misleading, dirty, and not at all what I had expected when booking the place.
Also, they require a security deposit, which was not at all mentioned in the listing. The issue is that when they refunded the deposit, it was not in full stating that they are charging for bank fees. This is just unheard of. I tried to get them to refund the rest but they never follow up.
I decided to file a complaint with booking.com, which I thought was anonymous. But it was not since the next day, I got an email from the property listing telling me to stop spamming booking.com customer service and that they will have their attorney charging my credit card for financial damage.
I feel like booking.com is unhelpful as I still have not heard anything. They are probably not going to help resolve this issue. I will call my credit card to dispute the deposit charge. But what else I can do?
Does anyone else have a similar experience?
