What's the difference between NXT and EVO?

The VKB website makes it sound like they just added some LEDs and made the axis customizable, is there anything else? Would I run into any issues with using a right hand NXT base and a left hand EVO base for throttle, or should I just upgrade both of them?
Also, what's your opinion on the Omni Throttle? I'm debating if i want to get an adaptor or not
