One late evening, while he was walking home with some recently purchased groceries, Gunther Everett was bumped into by a funnily-dressed man, who used the opportunity to steal a pear from his bag of groceries. Gunther pursued the thief, and in the following confrontation the thief revealed to Gunther that he was looking for a person to pawn his illegitimately-acquired goods off to, and implored Gunther to be that person.

Gunther and the oddly-dressed thief walked back to Gunther's apartment to discuss confidential business dealings over some hastily-prepared food. After their business was settled, the peculiarly-dressed thief left to go roam the streets, and Gunther got to work on one of the many tasks he had yet to complete.
