This is a follow up on a dear friend wih terminal cancer who, so far, has rejected hospice care. We've been honoring her decision and supporting her as best as we can. A new test revealed organ tumor invasion, which is causing extreme pain and bleeding (externally, maybe internally?)
This dear soul hasn't asked for a timeline (she doesn't want to how much time she has left), but is requesting visits from loved ones. Some of us would need to travel.
I'm leading up to the impossible question. Given the tumor invasion, bleeding and pain, is there any way to know if we're looking at weeks, months or less? Thanks in advance.
Impossible for us to give you any form of an accurate estimate with the information you provided, and anything anybody gives you would not be advisable to base your actions off of this.
- It sounds like your friend is coming around and making progress asking for visits from loved ones. Just keep supporting your friend and your friends wishes.
- It is always advisable for family and friends to come sooner rather than later. Do not wait. A visit where your loved one can talk, interact, and be aware with family and friends is much more beneficial and memorable than one where your friend is at the very end of life and non-responsive.
